Assembly Honors the Academic Might of Serra's Cavaliers

In an inspirational assembly on Thursday, February 8, the Serra Administration and Faculty recognized the strong academic achievements and personal examples of many Cavaliers in the Recognition of Excellence Assembly.  In the assembly, awards were given for Outstanding Citizenship, Honor Roll, and Principal's Honor Roll for the Fall 2017 semester and the Cavaliers of the Month for the month of January were announced. 
 
The recipients of the Outstanding Citizenship Awards were Freshmen Devin Hayden and Hailey Glamore-Scott, Sophomores Christopher Jones and Cynthia Ruiz, Juniors Jerome Thomas and Faith Smith and Seniors Duong Nguyen and Jessica Ortega.
 
There were 15 Freshmen, 15 Sophomores, 11 Juniors, and 14 Seniors on the Fall Semester 2017 Honor Roll, consisting of students who earned a GPA between 3.5 and 3.99.  On the Principal's Honor Roll, which holds within it students having a 4.0 GPA or higher, there were 10 Freshmen, 11 Sophomores, 37 Juniors, and 40 Seniors (pictured with Principal Mr. Jeff Guzman and Vice Principal Mr. Nadi Wissa). 
 
For Cavaliers of the Month for the month of January, the faculty recognized Freshman Jordan Hanzy, Sophomore Tarlton Walker, Junior Faith Smith, and Senior Jessica Ortega. 
 
It was truly a great event, an event that reminds us that the Serra Community is one that has a wide variety of students with incredibly diverse talents and that Serra is a truly powerful Catholic academic institution. Congratulations to all who were recognized on this great day.
