Principal Jeff Guzman has announced that Mr. Benjamin Ramos will be the new Marketing and Admissions Director at Junipero Serra High School, replacing Mr. Thomas Stafford. Ramos will continue to develop the program that has done well to promote Cavalier standards and to bring new Cavaliers into the fold, further enlightening others about and developing the tradition of Junipero Serra High School.
"Mr. Ramos brings a wealth of educational and life experience to the job, and he was brought in for the good of the school and our students. He is a hard-working family-man of faith and integrity. He will work hard for the continued success of our school," Guzman said.
Ramos, now in his 25th year in education, has held a wide variety of positions, including Social Studies teacher, College Counselor, Athletic Director, Academic Counselor, Director of Faculty and Students, and Coach, having won CIF Championships in 2004 and 2005 as the Head Coach of Girls Basketball, which he believes will help him in his new position. "I believe my diversity of experience will help me work well with everyone at Serra, and will allow me to do well to understand all aspects of what I am talking about when I go to feeder schools in the area," Ramos said.
Ramos is thrilled to be a new member of the Serra family. "I have wanted to return to working in a Catholic community, and this is the school that I belong, where the faith and its display is evident," said Ramos.
Ramos wants to continue what has been started by the Marketing and Admissions department, utilizing the strengths of Mr. Zac Bose and Ms. Raquel Armenta and his own strengths to bring students in the region and from the surrounding region into the Cavalier fold.
