Serra Cheer Steps Up Over the Holidays

The young ladies of the Serra Cheer squad wanted to give back over the holidays, so Coach Marcy Stephens made it happen. Through her full-time job she found an organization, Community’s Child, located in Lomita, that provides a safe house for battered women and their children. It also serves as a place for the women to go before entering back into the real world.

The cheerleaders pulled names and were given wish lists for the children and the mothers. The girls then chose something off the list or gave them gift cards. Since the young ladies were unable to go to the location, Coach Dawnyale and Coach Marcy presented the gifts to two of the families.
